Sustainable development represents the core of the company philosophy and is reflected in all the choices and strategies undertaken by Gemini both in the present and in the future.
During the first half of 2021, some important energy-improving interventions were completed at the Venice headquarters. The complete disposal of gas boilers, the thermal insulation of the external roof and the installation of new heat pump units have made it possible to reduce internal energy losses as well as the electrical consumption of the new air conditioning units. In addition, 5 photovoltaic systems with a total power of 41kW have been installed. The systems can produce about 52,000 kWh per year, making it possible to lower the consumption of electricity from fossil fuels and consequently reduce CO2 emissions by about 13.45 tons (equivalent to 616 trees).
The company's choice of eco-sustainability also necessarily affects its vehicles. For this reason, the first two green vehicles for urban logistics are already at work, together with a recharging station. The project for the Gemini vehicle fleet envisages the gradual replacement of vehicles with sustainable mobility solutions. The adoption of electric or environmentally friendly mobility systems makes it possible to reduce noise and air pollution and contribute to environmental protection.
